On March 10th, 2012, The Alivel Foundation Inc. will be hosting our first Fund Raiser. This year’s event is entitled “A Tribute to Bobby Rodriguez”.
Bobby Rodriquez was a multi-talented musician who is credited with creating “Latin Funk” a combination of Latin “Salsa” music with a blend of soul music, jazz and R&B. From his early days as a musician, he committed himself to musical advancements in the Latin Music industry. Performer, composer, arranger, producer and finally creator of his our record label, Bobby was truly a gifted artist who shared many of his creative talents with younger musicians throughout his career; Influencing many of these young artists for years to come.
This is why this year we will pay tribute to the late Bobby Rodriquez and in doing so promote his desire to educate everyone that he could on the history and techniques of Salsa Music. Join us for an evening of remembrance, filled with performances by Mambo Legends & a special appearance by La Nueva Compañía.
The event will be held at one of New York’s most exclusive venues, the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum located at 1 Intrepid Square New York, NY 10036, Pier 86, W 46th St and 12th Ave. A portion of your admission will be donated towards the Foundation’s Grant and Scholarship Fund.; the recipient of the “Bobby Rodriquez Memorial Scholarship” will be announced that evening.

So go ahead and pamper yourself, while helping us support a young aspiring musician realize his or her musical ambition through our scholarship and grant giving programs.
