The Alivel Foundation Inc. is dedicated to the preservation of Latin American music and its impact on society-at-large. Through educational programs, we are determined to keep this musical style alive and provide our younger generation with the roots that have fashioned the musical attributes of our Latin community.
Our grant giving, as well as scholarship programs will provide these youngsters with the tools to continue advancing their musical education and develop new styles without losing sight of the historical features that have given us a musical elegance that encompasses the trials and tribulations of Latinos that have given birth to this most unique musical style.
Our goal is to provide a gateway into the history of Latin Music; encourage our younger generation to seek out the blend of diverse cultures that have contributed to the Latin music scene. Through a precise educational experience, these young men and women can follow in the footsteps of classic songwriters such as Tito Rodriguez. Rafael Hernandez, Ignacio Pineiro, Perez Prado and song stylists, the likes of Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Ruben Blades and Willy Chirino. True progressives that have taken the original sounds of the Caribbean and turned it into what we know today.
The Alivel Foundation Inc., in addition to its educational grant giving and scholarship programs, will develop student workshops, bringing together musicians, teachers, producers, and composers as the frontline to our musical achievement program. Students from middle school through college, along with exceptionally gifted elementary school students will have the opportunity to learn and compete for funding so as to advance their musical ambitions and continue to fortify Latin music. The Alivel Foundation Inc. is committed to ensuring that our musical roots and our cultural triumphs are thoroughly understood by our future Latin music artists and those that are yet to come.
